Lynn University Releases a Free iPad App for Presidential Debate Education
Submitted by Jesse Towsen on 23 August 2012
In anticipation of the final Presidential debate on October 22, 2012, Lynn University, as the debate’s host, has created a free app for the iPad that assists teachers in educating K-12 students in the presidential candidate debate and politics.
This exciting new app will have three activities for each grade K-5 and 4 activities for each grade 6-12. The interactive activities in the app include worksheets, coloring sheets, mock debates, multimedia content and much more!
Kindergartners will learn to recognize political party symbols through a coloring exercise. 6th graders will watch presidential debates and, on scoring cards, determine which candidate did a better job.
A description of activities for each grade, presidential fact sheets, and debate information can be found in the appendix of the web portal.
Christian Boniforti raves, “We worked closely with Apple technology to create a fun, unique tool for teachers to use in the classroom,”
E. Wayne Gents says, “Our students will have multi-dimensional, interactive learning modules to stimulate discussion on how to understand and maintain our nation's democracy.”
This fun and engaging app can be downloaded here and more information can be found on Lynn University’s official debate website.
