"During Senate floor statements Monday on the Disclose Act, which would require outside campaign groups to publicly list donors over $10,000, Democrats invoked the Koch brothers and Koch Industries some 22 times in arguing for the legislation.  Charles and David Koch are trying to “buy our elections” said the Democrats. The legislation, which would require certain political fundraising groups to name their donors, failed – it needed 60 votes to avoid a filibuster, but only got 51 to the GOP’s 44. The four Democrats who led the anti-Koch charge were Majority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, and Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey."  Read more...
